Why you should choose Paralegal Studies

  • You will gain a working knowledge into the intricacies of legal research, writing, and legal theory, making SIU’s Paralegal Studies Program an excellent law school preparation.

  • Many paralegal students are accepted to SIU School of Law as well as many others across the country. (Angie Scott 1997 graduate of the Paralegal Studies program and was ranked the #2 graduate of the 2000 SIUC Law School class).

  • An ABA approved Paralegal degree ensures many career opportunities. Not only can you practice as a professional paralegal with a law office, corporation, or an administrative agency, but your degree also opens the door to unique employment options. Our graduates hold such positions as Trust Officer, Legal Arbitrator, and Grants Administrator for the State of Illinois.

  • The Paralegal Studies program also supports student groups, such as the LEX Honor Society and the Organization of Paralegal Students (OPS)

  • There ARE jobs available for our graduates.
  • We have the only 4 year Bachelor of Science Paralegal program in Illinois that is approved by the American Bar Association.
